Data Selection
You can either download annual tar files with the data we have for each year,
or you can access individual monthly files at the end of this page. Annual Tar Files
hdf file naming conventioncbpm.yyyyddd.hdf.gzcbpm = net primary production (units of mg C / m**2 / day ) based on the cbpm algorithm yyyy = year ddd = day of year of the start of each monthly file hdf = file type gz = compressed with gzip (uncompress with gunzip) The hdf files have metadata contained within them, which can be examined, for example, with program "ncdump". npp is based on the original cbpm algorithm, using gsm chl and gsm bbp (both modis derived products), seawifs par, and mld as input; clouds have been filled in the input data using our own gap-filling software.
